Caught!

This is what Micah colored at MOPS today. Nice, isn't it?

When he showed it to me I oooooo'ed and ahhhhh'ed over it, gave him a high five and a pat on the back.

Then when we got home I promptly threw it away. After all, we can't keep every little scribble that our children ever make!

I throw lots of stuff away and have never before been caught. (Although I do usually try to fold the papers or hide them somehow in the trash.)

Well, after lunch today when Micah went to the trash can to throw away his plate and I heard him say, "Oh NO!" I rushed over and he was pointing to his coloring page in the trash! I then proceeded to act really surprised and shocked..."How did that get in there?", I said.

Oops...guess I need to be more careful when I throw things away from now on...

Awww....poor Micah. How horrible to find your work of art in the trash! At least wait a week or something before throwing it out....maybe hang it on the frig for a day or two (that's what I do).

Sounds familiar :)

Yep, I've done that before and it's always when you forget to bury it in the trash that they see it....or if they're helping with the trash and there at the bottom of the trash can is their precious artwork.

Judy...oh you are so funny! It's so hard to determine what to keep and what not to keep isn't it? I've had my fair share of "oops" when it comes to throwing things out of the kids. But I do tend to save a lot too. I saw another MOPS mom tie a long piece of twine from one corner of her playroom to the other and hung her children's "masterpieces" with clothespins from there. Thought it was a cute idea...just haven't made the time to execute it yet. Right now the girls Little Lamb and church hour papers are in one big pile on our countertop...waiting for someone to find a place to display them. Oh dear.
...you could always just take a picture of the boys artwork (like you did with this picture of Micah's) and then do away with the paper copy from there...digital files take up a lot less space...but then you still have some sort of documentation of their accomplishment.
